Duncan Mighty Set To Drop 5th Studio Album Two Years After His Last Album
Duncan Mighty is set to drop a fifth album, two years since he released his fourth. The singer made the development available to TheNETng that the album will drop September 16, 2016.
Chatting with a NET correspondent on what to expect from the album, Duncan says
“It’s an album with variety of African Port-Harcourt hits with melodious, vibes and lyrics that’s not just sweet when listening to it but also educates, add value to lives and most especially songs to motivate the youth on the streets.
I intend to use the album to speak to Nigerian youths to shun violence and embrace their God given talent.”
Asked why he waited two years before releasing another album, he simply says “God’s time is the best”.
The singer’s debut album “Koliwater” was released in 2008. His sophomore “Ahamefuna (Legacy)” followed in 2010 while his third and fourth studio albums, “Footprints” and “Grace & Talent” were released in 2012 and 2014 respectively.Duncan Mighty is best known for his song ‘Port Harcourt boy’ and ‘Obianuju’.
Though his musical style demonstrates a high-level of genre versatility, it is also heavily influenced by the sounds and culture of his people as most of his songs are sung in his native Ikwerre tongue.
The indigenous singer was nominated Artiste of the Year at The Headies 2011 and received three nominations at the 6th Annual NEA Awards in 2011 where he went on to win the Indigenous Artist of the Year.
